This Oran has a dense ecology and the average temperature is 33 degree Celsius, soil is rocky. This bani is in good condition. 

Many trees like Peepal (Ficus religiousa), Neem (Azadirachta indica), Babul (Acacia nilotica), Bargad (Ficus bengalisis), Papadi (Holoptelia integrifolia), Dhok (Anogeissus pendula), Kadam (Neolamarckia cadamba), Aak (Kelotropis jiegantiya), Kair (Capparis decidua), Jal (Salvadora oleoides), Mango (Mangefera Indica), Jamun (Syzygium cuminu), Pilu (Salvadora Oleoides) and different type of grasses and bushes are commonly found in this place. The wild animal or birds found in this oran are Neilgay, Siyar, wild cat, Rabbit, Ghohra, Snake, Navela, Parrot, Spparow, Peacock, and Pegion are different type of birds and common creature mostly found as common in this place. Water resources: Handpump, Johad and Bawadi are present.

This devbani is a V-shped valley in the foothills.

The approximate populations of the different communities living here are: Rajput - 1000, Gurjar - 2500, Jatav - 2500, Muslims - 1000, Suthar - 500, Pandit - 500. Their occupation is agriculture and animal husbandry.

This is an important site in the epic Brij Parikrama route. According to the belief of the villagers, this bani is ancient. There is a temple of Mahadevji situated on the slope of the Aravali mountain. Villagers believe that this statue originated naturally from the mountain itself. Later on, villagers constructed the temple. Villagers have great faith in the power of Lord Mahadevji and they think that every wish is fulfilled by the deity when they pray with their heart.  People do not cut wood from the Oran, only dead wood is used for fuel or other purposes. They also believe that the deity punishes violators by causing blindness and disease. Pilgrims and villagers perform Satsangh and Bhandara in the name of the deity. This is when the community of this area gets togetherand bonds with nature. The traditions of Chuggadalan and Chitawal are commonly followed by the villagers.  These cater to the feeding need of ants and birds, protect trees and animals. Women worship certain old trees of this bani.

Pilgrims and villagers visit the Mahadevji temple on Mondays.Women are devoted to Mahadevji. A Mela (fair) is organised on Mahashivratri. On that day, villagers and pilgrims from the different parts of the area come to this place to get blessings of the deity. Villagers say that every wish is fulfilled by the Lord Mahadevji on this day. Villagers fast on this day and offer milk and sugar to the deity. Prasad of Kheer is distributed to the villagers and the pilgrims. Women gather here in large number for worship. They fast to get a better groom or for the long life of their husband.

The devbani is abundant with trees which are associated with religious beliefs. The devbani provides fodder, grass, and livelihood to the shepherds and villagers.

Local community, PRI and mahatmas are included. Currently serving Mahatma Sukhdev dass ji Maharaj is the head. The ladies of the young SC community are also included while created the committee.

The renovation works of Oran johad (water body) and Bawadi (step well) have been done under NREGA. Installation of a handpump was carried out by PRI.

There is a non-formal institution/ committee in Kedarnath bani which decides the work related to the temple. Traditionally, Mahatma used to take care of the Oran, but later they formed a village samiti (committee), which employs an unwritten systems of rules and regulations. 

One of the responsibilities of the community members is to organize meetings from time to time and form rules and punish violators. Meetings of the protection initiative are organized every month. 

Cutting wood from the devbani is prohibitted. It is believed that if one vioaltes this rule, Mahadevji will punish the offender in the form of blindness. Moderate, non-invasive collection of medicinal plants, and dead wood for fuel, dung, fodder and grazing are permitted but cutting trees is not allowed. The village samiti employs a system of rules which include punishing violaters through monetary fines and social exclusion. On the violation, a monetary penalty (of Rs. 500, Rs. 1100, Rs. 2100 depending on the level of violation) is levied by the committee but there has not been such an incident in last few years, as shared by Sarpunch Ramji Lal Gurjar.

The committee ensures that the rules of the site are known and adhered to. People’s awareness of wildlife and forest rights is high. Local Forest department and NGOs conducts camps/meetings on people’s awareness about laws and policies with regards to wildlife, forest rights. Villagers do not cut wood and do not kill wild animals from the bani, as this was a traditional system in the bani. It is the task of shepherds who graze animals to keep watch on each other and also on outsider violators.

All community members in the village are aware of the distinct boundaries of the Oran. Non-timber forest produce (NTFPs) such as honey, ber (fruit), grass for fodder, bamboo and wood for house, etc are allowed to be extracted from here. Proper utilization of resources is decided by the committee. This Oran falls under the inviolate zone of Aravali hill - mining and other harmful non-forestry activities are banned.

Many factors have supported conservation here, like effective legal policies traditional or religious beliefs. Legal provisions specifically provide an important basis for identification, recognition and management procedures for the CCAs (Community Conserved Areas; such as Orans) namely Biodiversity Heritage Sites (Section 37 (1) of Biological Diversity Act, 2002) and the Community and Conservation Reserves (notified under sections 18, 35, 36A and 36C of the Wildlife (Protection) Amendment Act, 2002). The Rajasthan Forest Policy 2010 highlights the importance of Orans, in which, one whole section (i.e. section 5.10 in the policy document) is exclusively dedicated to the Orans.  Recently, (i.e. on 03/07/2018), the Supreme Court of India has made ORDER of declaring all Orans as ''DEEMED FORESTS", following the procedures laid down in the "Forest Conservation Act, 1980”.   

There is a big problem of drinking water here. In the future people want to work on it. There is more salinity in ground water.
