This forest has been protected by 20 villages and they have cooperated with each other to ensure that the forest has been protected successfully. The last owner of the land was the Central Dairy Farm (CDF) but this land has been passed through the hands of many organizations. When the CDF decided to sell the land to some contractors and get it cleared of the forest, the villagers united and staged a hunger strike outside the District Magistrate’s office. This stopped the cutting of trees until this conflict was resolved. The regeneration and protection of this forest is important for the villagers and wildlife has also thrived in this area. The main problems that the villagers face is their lack of education and maintaining the unity of the villages against the destruction of their forest.
