The Jamjor Village community protects the local revenue forest, which is also known as the khesra forest. Agriculture is the primary occupation of the Village. Both Villagers and the timber mafia were responsible for causing deforestation, leading to scarcity of forest products, especially fuel wood. This led to the realisation of the need for conservation in the community and after a few years of informal protection, the Forest department provided saplings for planting. The forest has now re-generated and is being actively protected by the community.
