The community here started their conservation efforts in 1984 and in 1998, they established a Forest Protection Committee (FPC) and Mahila Mangal Dal (MMD). This land was illegally occupied, and they found a way to evict these occupants. The government helped them in this effort. These efforts paid off and the villagers can collect fuelwood and fodder. Wildlife has also reappeared and the increasing population of nilgai has been a concern for the villagers. The FPC is still an unregistered body which is a problem for trying to control the offences regarding the forest.
