The villagers in Suali village began their conservation efforts in 1985. They decided to completely stop shifting agriculture which was destroying the land very quickly and then formed an Forest Protection Committee (FPC). The neighbouring villages seem to be the largest threat to their safety and after a series of altercations, they reached an agreement. The Forest Department (FD) doesn’t seem to be providing enough support to help sustain this initiative and increasing grass for grazing in the village may solve the problem of grazing animals.
